Why we started making Homemade Dog Treats

Updated: May 24, 2020

Have you ever checked out the ingredient list on the back of your dogs treat bags? The Flavors might seem healthy enough and your pup probably loves them, but you might still be left wondering, "How do I know if the treats I'm giving my dog(s) are Really healthy for them?"

One by one we started Googling unknown ingredients that we found out were doing more harm than good for our dogs and cats! This led us to the idea of making our very own homemade dog treats. (The cats are still a work in progress, so let us know if you have any suggestions!)

We had major goals in mind when it came to making our treats! We knew we wanted them to have that crunchy, crumbly texture dogs love, and the flavors & smells of course had to be drool worthy, but above all we were going to use high-quality, human-grade ingredients. That's why we use most of the same ingredients we would cook with in our own plant-based kitchen as we do in our Plant Based Pups treats.

We believe everyone deserves transparency when it comes to knowing exactly what's in your beloved fur babies treats. So allow us to leave your worries behind in knowing that Plant Based Pups treats are loaded with nutrients and vitamins!

Our treats will have even the pickiest of Pups licking up every last healthy crumb!!!
